Equality and freedom do not need to be viewed as contradicting each other. It is possible to integrate them by characterizing just institutions as institutions that secure the greatest real freedom to those with least of it. But does such a conception of social justice as „real freedom for all” accommodate adequately all our considered judgements about social justice? In particular, what about the importance we intuitively attach to democracy, to dignity and to reciprocity? [Poster]
